We had our sonogram on Friday and found out we're having another boy. It was the first thing we saw and there's no question. Russell is ecstatic. I'm getting used to the idea...EVERYONE, including myself and the doctor thought it was a girl. I announced the news to friends and family and got these responses:
"Are you sure?"
"You're joking."
"Really?"
I don't have a doctor's appointment until the middle of the month, but the technician seems to think every thing is okay. The radiologist has to look at the sonogram results and then gives his findings to the doctor. It's kind of nerve racking to think I'll be getting the results second or third hand. I've got to reschedule my appointment and will insist to see the doctor, just to reassure myself since we have friends who had a sonogram come back with some iffy results.
Russ didn't get to see much because we had Charles with us. He was completely off schedule and up before 7am. He wanted to run (totally normal) and was ready for a nap by our appointment time at 8:15. Russ spent the entire time corralling him in a tiny examination room, full of equipment and 5 people (a technician, a student, Russell, Charles, and me). It was not a good experience. But after the appointment we had to head straight to Friday Friends and I thought he'd sit in the stroller and eat his breakfast of Life cereal and milk. I didn't expect the early wake-up time.
Here are some pictures. I've omitted the picture proving he's a boy. It'll give him some privacy although it didn't seem like he was shy!
We're planning to do the 4-D sonogram again so there will be more pictures in a few months. We get the mother plus 5 guests and won't be making one of them Charles!
