Welcome

This week Charles has his first official cold--at least it seems like one. It could be allergies or teething. He's got a runny nose and a cough but no fever and he's in good spirits. He's been napping, which is a nice change from being up all day, and crabby in the evening.

Today we went to the local car seat check and had our "big kid" car seat installed. It's rear facing, but not an infant carrier. Charles is getting too long for the infant carrier and too heavy to carry around. He can sit up pretty well now and has been okay in the shopping cart the last several times we've been out.

We also went to the mall to walk, get parts for the lawn mower, and get Charles some new clothes. He doesn't have many things for spring. We skipped right over the 9 month size and went straight to 12 months. Kansas weather fluctuates so much in spring that we need a variety, everything from long pants and long sleeves to shorts and t-shirts.

Tonight we had our Friday night favorite--Bernie's Pizza (formerly known as Pizza Villa). We go almost every Friday with Stacey's parents. Their family meal deal is the best bargain in town. Charles sat in a high chair for the first time at a resturant. He did really well entertaining himself with spoons and straws.

Casey and Lillie love Charles. Espically Lillie. She always wants to kiss him. Neither of the dogs mind when Charles pulls on their fur or grabs them, which is usally their lips or ears.

Speaking of dogs...it's raining cats and dogs. We haven't had any tornadoes but it's been raining since about 3:00 this afternoon. The roads are starting to flood. On the way home from dinner there was one low spot on Maize Road where water was up the curb. We drove through it and were fine, but both Russ & I were a little nervous about all the water.
